Handbook - Sunday Mornings

Reminder – Do not wear flip flops or large earrings in the choir loft. Refrain from wearing bright colored slacks or long dresses. Darker dress shows are preferred.

Find your assigned robe and put it on. Pick up your Sunday binder of music.

Pick up Sunday Worship Guides from tables outside Choral Hall.

Check your name off of the attendance sheets on tables just inside Choral Hall. (Sopranos and Altos on east side, Tenors and Basses on west side)

Be seated in your section in the Choral Hall at 10:20 (summer) or 10:25 (school year).

Stephen will lead the Choir in vocal warm-ups and review the morning’s music. Choir seating will be arranged for the service.

When entering the choir loft, please carry your Sunday binder at your side, in the hand that is nearest the congregation.

The robe rooms will be locked during the worship services so that you may leave your personal belongings. We prefer that purses not be taken into choir loft.

Stephen will instruct the choir when to stand and sit while in choir loft.

When the choir is standing, please keep your Sunday binder open in front of you.

Sing unison on the first and last stanzas on hymns and parts on any remaining stanzas, unless directed otherwise by Stephen.

Make a conscious effort to display a joyful countenance while leading in worship.

Following the anthem and prior to the sermon, those who need to exit the choir loft to attend Sunday school or fulfill other commitments may do so during the prayer just prior to the sermon.

Those remaining in the choir loft for the rest of the service will remain standing while others exit, and then move to center and sit.

After the service, place your music in the appropriate return boxes on the tables near the Choral Hall. Return your robe and Sunday folder to the robe room.
